Emile Henry Flame Top Tagine 12-1/2-Inch,Yellow

Well Worth the Price
I thought maybe this was a bit expensive for something I might not use that often but let me tell you it is well worth it and now that I have it I will use it often. It heats very slowly and evenly and you use on a flame to sear the outside of stuff and saute then combine everything and transfer to the oven. The meats will turn out perfectly cooked and tender. If your thinking about getting this buy it.

Excellent tagine, very attractive too
12 1/2 inches is even larger than I thought -- this tagine can serve a family of four with ease. This space-age stoneware can withstand even the highest of stovetop temperatures, so you can pre-brown ingredients as desired directly in the bottom pan. Unless you make some sort of major cooking mistake, the results will be moist, tender, fragrant, and flavorful, be they vegetables, chicken, lamb, fish, etc., etc..

Only issue: even after pre-treating the surface with boiling milk as directed, some food does stick to the bottom. Cleaning is easy, but not quite as easy as your typical modern non-stick pan.

Best item ever!
Ordered this as a gift for my vegetarian son. He was thrilled! Item is of high quality, cooks a great meal, and looks good just sitting on the stove top!
